Random rant

Let’s see … where to start this rant … so many choices.

I’ll start by actually giving praise to a Web site I do most of my shopping at for computer parts for my system or systems I am helping people with. That would be Newegg.com. With the sales of my CDs going strongly at Half.Com, I was able to finance a DVD burner as a vehicle for future creative endeavors, or even to back up my immense MP3 collection. More on the latter at a later date.

Well, Newegg.com already offers what could be the best prices for almost anything computer related on the Internet. They have gotten more than a few hundred dollars from me over the past 3 years or so. My entire current system can all be traced back to one or more of their warehouses, as well as almost all of the component’s in Zachary’s and Max’s machines, and several in Marcinko’s as well. So, after ordering my DVD burner Sunday night, I was a little disappointed to see that it had already dropped $6 by Wednesday. I expected it to creep down in price but thought this was too significant to fast to ignore.

Fueled by the free tickets Steve Cooney scored by complaining to the Destinta manager after the poor sound quality in the “VIP” booth, I figured I’d pen a nice e-mail to the folks at Newegg asking them if they could allow for an adjustment on my account. They were so gracious to issue issue the $6 credit almost immediately (received it today) that I am tempted to go out and buy the power supply I need for another system I am building. I will eventually and they’ll get the $6+ from me, but I just thought it was a good way to start the weekend.

Speaking of Steve … I need to add my next Blog soon to tell of my dead coffee carafe and Ruth’s phone …

Stay tuned.
